What is State of Mind?
What is our current state of mind regarding the mind itself? From a cognitive science background I am particularly interesting in all topics related to thought processes, neurophysiology, psychology etc. Especially where it relates to technology. This section will serve to provide interesting information on this topic in a, hopefully, semi-regular fashion :)
My interests lie in the field of cyberware, so I will certainly be bringing a few of these artices to the attentions of readers. Listed below are the links and references that comprise the background reading material I went over for my 3rd year project (note that was 1997-1999) and other interesting articles I have come across since then. To my knowledge it is the largest collection around. It`s still growing too (though slowly as I'm pretty slack in actually putting the info up here). :P Note that since I did my project I haven't actually dnoe a thorough online search for research materials, but I can tell you now I plan on doing so shortly as I get back into research again.
Some article links may not exist anymore and I apologise, but such is life. Note that some of this stuff is pretty old... well, that's kinda the way it goes - In some cases, the articles are also archived in cyberpunks.org and I'll provide a cross-link to this archive (where it exists) in case the real article has been removed. If you notice a broken link or find another article - or a link to an article that has been left unlinked or anything at all... feel free to email me
I`ve tried to organise these articles into related groups but given the wide-reaching nature of this subject that has been difficult. I have thus split the links into three lists. The first list deals with the links by subject (eg prosthetics or neurophysiology) and the second by type of thing (eg article or book), the final one puts all articles into by-date order - this means almost everything is repeated at least once, and articles at least twice. Also, WRT the "by-subject" list, some of the subjects you may not hink relate to this field, but I'll only include articles which do so in some way. More explanation will be forthcoming at a later stage...

Please note: a lot of the old articles are only available in the Archive. You have to go to the SciAm Archive, search for it, and then pay to download it. Thos that are still available free (at the time I last checked) will be linked here. AFAIK, currenlty anything before 1999 is in the archive. This may change to 2000 when the year clicks over to 2003...
